What does it take to open a mechanical lock? A bumpkey and something to tap it with (humping won't work). Bump keys are made with regular keys using a locksmith tool or even a file if you know what you are dong and all it takes is a small set of them to open most mechanical locks out there. Check out the cool yet disturbing YouTube video.
When you were younger, were there any game shows that you religiously watched and wanted to be a contestant on?
Doh. I just 'discovered' the QotD box. An interesting feature. I would have added more visual hints to the blue box though but then doing it tastefully really calls for extensive user experience modeling (UXM?). UXM process reads through a user's activity log to find ways to enhance the user experience. For example, UXM can easily find out that I never used or neglected QotD feature; turning on a subtle visual hint (usually animation of sort like power-up animation attract eyeball) next time the user gets to the page.
Re QotD question, my answer is no. I didn't watch much TV. Instead, I spent most of my childhood reading or meditate in the garden. A weird kid I was.
Not sure if this is permanent or only during red alert but I don't know about trusting my laptop with baggage handlers. I've seen them tossing bags six feet or more. On the upside, this ban should void MBP charging-during-flight problem Joi had. :-)
I think Vox will eventually need to provide more means for users to organize their neighborhood into cliques without exposing embarassing details to neighbors. By embarrasing, I mean I don't a distant friend to know that I consider him to be a distant friend.
Looking at the flip side, perhaps relationships can be turned into a visual game board or status board. If you are upset with a friend, click on the "At War" checkbox like one would in WoW. LOL
When I read John Timmer's You can multi-task, but don't expect to learn anything, I thought of Joi, Level 60 Multi-tasker. Joi, does your experience jive with this report at all? I think the basic premise might be true when equality task priority is assumed but not otherwise.
This is my first Vox post. Vox is an interesting 'twist' of Cyworld and blogs. Best way to describe it is, like I told Joi, OutSpace. Vox's slow-lane chat effect is Interesting too.
I am not sure about "Who can view this" defaulting to "the world" though since a treehouse's value depends largely on privacy. Privacy categories need more work also meaning this 'bento' needs more compartments where each compartment works like a blog category and each compartment has it's own neighborhoods.
Hmm. I don't know why but the show "Odd Couple" comes to mind when I think about use cases. At one end, you have people who tend to prefer small number of deep and private relationships. At the other end, you have maven/whore like behavior with neighborhood size encroaching LA. Interesting problems. Heehee.
If I had to point to the largest problem I see in Vox, I would say that it's lack of location hints, meaning it's difficult to tell where I am in the neighborhood when I am looking at a page.
